Every year, a year ago

Non. It's not that "things" change in our lives from one year to another; it's that "we" change from time to time and end up seeing things differently.
"Things" aka life with all its situations, atrocities, hardships and beauties remain the same; our perception of them is what makes all the difference.

Today I choose to see "tolerance", "love", "perseverance" and "insistence". I choose to see "self love", "self acceptance", "peace", "forgiveness" and "passion".
For we are destined to spend the rest of our lives in the same bodies with the same souls, we must forgive ourselves to grow, thrive and keep living healthily.
We must see potential in our hearts and power in our minds. We must believe we are capable of our dreams to hunt them down.

It's scary to change - the instability of a new pair of eyes and a new set of thoughts cause a troubling chain of synapses. We are a whole new being within the same old boundaries.
We know more. We see further. We appreciate better. We dream bigger. We know our worth.
We need to push boundaries, and GROW.
Grow out of this old box and build a box-less mold to our lives.

A year ago, I was a child to who I am and what I know today. And such lessons, such important lessons, don't go by unnoticed. Each is scarred and carved.

The real question remains - would we go back in time to when "things" used to seem so innocent to choose a lesson-free path? Or would we fall in love with the painful process of learning, embrace it and accept that each one of us does mistakes to grow?
